Tax Day Tea Party: Revolution is Brewing

Citizens across the country are finally beginning to protest the bloated pork projects and massive, Unconstitutional borrowing and spending programs hyped by the President, the Congress and the media as “economic stimulus.”

Eight weeks ago, Congress  abdicated it’s Constitutionally mandated responsibility by passing in a few hours the giant “Stimulus Bill” before it was printed, before any Senator or Congressman could read it.  This abdication made the Presidency a defacto office of unlimited power, not subject to the checks and balances in the Constitution.

Virtually none of the spending in this bill was in any way urgent.  The promise  from the President, Democrats in Congress and the media was that urgent action was justified in that passage of the bill would stop job losses immediately.  But as Liberty Works has documented, the rate of job losses has increased since passage.

The Treasury Department and the Federal Reserve have spent, lent, issued loan guarantees, or otherwise committed $12.8 Trillion to rescue Banks, Wall Street companies, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, GM and Chrysler from accountability for their own businesses.  To put this number in perspective, it is about enough to completely pay off every mortgage in America.

A nationwide, grass roots, Tax Day Tea Party movement has emerged and more than 500 events are scheduled for April 15 in hundreds of cities and towns all across America.  The message will be: Enough is Enough!
