Rush Limbaugh, now the head of the Republican party said over and over he wanted Obama to fail. That meant keeping the stimulus too small to succeed, which is now driving up unemployment.

Quite the unusual response. Does moveon send out talking points or something? Because I didn’t know radio hosts could counterfeit, er, uh, print money like the Federal Reserve, and spend taxpayer dollars (we don’t have) to pay off Obama’s politically connected cronies.

And yes, Republicans suck too! The Red Team vs. Blue Team argument, try as you might, won’t accomplish a thing. The federal government is determined to send our country into economic oblivion, and with the House passing cap and trade, they will succeed!

We’ll be lucky to be as well of as Mexico 5 years from now.

aaa again is right. It would cost less to just hand checks to everyone who is unemployed. big checks. Government doesn’t stimulate the economy. government drags down the economy.

In the Land of Hope and Change, things like math and accounting no longer apply. All we have to do today, is feel good about the economy, and before you know it, we’ll all be farting methane-free unicorns and rainbows!

So throw that old stinkin’ calculator out, and join the new era of Hopey Changey Goodness!

I’ve seen various estimates of job losses since the beginning of the recession, but the Bureau of Labor stats puts it at 7 million. Let’s also observe that the poverty line for a family of four is right at $20K per year. So:

Let’s say we really care about 7 million in unemployed people, and that we want to do something about providing them income and supporting their spending for the benefit of the economy. 7 million unemployed (assuming all are standard sozed families) times – oh, I’m feeling gracious today – 150% of the poverty rate, $30K/yr, is $210 Billion. So we could write all the newly unemployed families a $30K check. Cost? $210 B.

You know, its a nasty recession. Let’s write them that check for two years. $420B.

Now. Obama’s “stimulus” package? $800B (and counting).

Wait just a cotton picking minute. You mean to tell me that we could write a check to these people for 3-4 years and still spend less than Obama’s “stimulus” package……..BUT HIS BILL HASN”T REDUCED UNEMPLOYMENT ONE BIT ?!?!?!

WTF !!?? And I haven’t even considered that they are receiving unemployment benefits. So the $800B is low. This is crazy.

If I didn’t know any better, I’d think that Obama’s spending bill, er, “stimulus” bill was nothing but political pork for favored donators and such. Sure hasn’t reduced unemployment!

That would make me a cynic – or a realist. On the other hand, I could believe in Obama, despite this crazy logic…..and the results Of course that would make me a dope.
