Obama: GOP Voters Scared & Not Thinking Clearly

It appears that voters are about to repudiate the Obama agenda and Democrats will likely lose control of the House and maybe the Senate as well.  Speaking to a small audience of wealthy donors in Massachusetts the President called forth standard leftist/progressive doctrine to explain why his party will suffer losses on November 2:

And so part of the reason that our politics seems so tough right now, and facts and science and argument does not seem to be winning the day all the time, is because we’re hard-wired not to always think clearly when we’re scared.  And the country is scared, and they have good reason to be.

Are we scared away from facts?  Or do facts about the results of ObamaNomics scare us away from the President’s ideas?

We’re publishing this chart a second time in case the President missed it the first time.

Obama emphatically promised his stimulus, or recovery plan would – using his own words – “immediately jumpstart job creation and long term growth.” Based on the solemn predictions of “experts” and “economists” that with the recovery plan unemployment would rise no higher than 8% – and as the chart shows, even that would be for only a month or two – Congress passed the massive stimulus, or Recovery Act.

The results have not lived up to the promise.  The Obama chart projects 7.3% unemployment for September, 2010 with a recovery act or 9% without it.   The actual rate in September was 9.6% and there were 2.6 million fewer jobs than 20 months ago when the stimulus/recovery act was signed into law and the spending began.

During the campaign Obama excoriated President Bush and the Republicans for “irresponsible deficits.”  He warned that electing John McCain would result in “soaring deficits.”  So the people elected him instead.  How did that work out?

We’re just beginning to suffer the consequences of ObamaCare.  Obama promised the plan would “bend the cost curve down” and save the average familiy $2,500 per year.  But instead premiums are rising due to the new health insurance mandates and requirements.  The President promised over and over that “if you like your insurance you can keep it.”  But it turns out you can’t keep the same insurance because the new law requires your employer and the insurance company to change it.  And the changes increase the cost.

But as always Obama’s tactic is breathtaking chutzpah!  He now blames the voters, the taxpayers, the people who make America work, for being too “scared” to appreciate his version of “facts and science!”

I’m scared allright. Because the red line is reality, and Team Obama hasn’t come to grips with that reality.

    Yes, be afraid, very afraid.
