There Will Be Blood

minus4-movie-scale.jpgGrammy’s Rating: -4

The title should have definitely been a tip off. The synopsis of this film described it as an “unflinching examination of a consummately evil man.” That it is.

A lot is said in the synopsis about the oil fields of California. But don’t go expecting a history lesson, because it isn’t there. After nearly 3 hours of emotional abuse, I left feeling assaulted and nauseous. “Blood” is a senseless profile of an evil psychopathic narcissist with no redeeming value.

Christians generally and God specifically are treated with disdain and in the final analysis, the movie just makes no sense. Lapses in logic are ignored for the sake of depicting an ugly story. Only someone studying how to act like evil insanity need bother with this one. There is no other message.
