Global Warming Update

From The National Climatic Data Center’s United States Climate Summary for April, 2008:

The average temperature in April 2008 was 51.0 F. This was -1.0 F cooler than the 1901-2000 (20th century) average, the 29th coolest April in 114 years.

Or put another way, since 1894 when the government started keeping records, 73% of Aprils were warmer than April, 2008.

The weekly Global Warming Update is a feature of Liberty Works, offering facts, data and analysis to rebut hysterical warnings of imminent climate catastrophe from the Global Warming Cult.

    Mr. BoomerJeff

I consider my self somewhat of a student on this subject. I have formal training, undergraduate and graduate level degrees, in a field steeped in physical chemistry. (The science of solutions, chemical reactions, phase dynamics etc.) Further, I have read several books on the subject written by prominent scientists. However……

I only recently learned (perhaps I missed it earlier) that measurements taken from sediment rock, which are reflective of the character of the atmosphere years ago, indicate much, much higher levels of CO2 in the atmosphere. Why? Because when the techtonic plates separated to create the various continents they released tremendous amounts of CO2, as CO2 is contained mostly in the earth’s crust – the oceans and the hard crust.

Of course, the earth had no “human-beins” then, a period of much higher atmospheric CO2 levels. And it was cold.

Oh, well. I knew man made global warming was bunk already. And that AlGore was a snake oil salesman.
