Out of a total of  53 questions, only 10 were about Mueller’s investigative assignment, Russian interference in the election and any links and/or coordination between the Russian government and the Trump campaign.. 

First, are 43 questions that are about matters after the election and thus, outside the scope of Mueller’s assignment.

One question about Trump’s 2013 Trip to Russia

  1. During a 2013 trip to Russia, what communication and relationships did you have with the Agalarovs and Russian government officials?

Only Nine questions about Mueller’s actual investigative assignment: Russian interference during the election campaign and any coordination between the Russians and the Trump campaign.

Four of those questions are mens rea, intended to probe for a guilty mind, not about anything Candidate Trump actually DID.

  1. What knowledge did you have of any outreach by your campaign, including by Paul Manafort, to Russia about potential assistance to the campaign?
  2. What did you know about communication between Roger Stone, his associates, Julian Assange or WikiLeaks?
  3. During the campaign, what did you know about Russian hacking, use of social media or other acts aimed at the campaign
  4. When did you become aware of the Trump Tower meeting? (In June 2016 Donald Trump Jr. met with a Russian lawyer who claimed to have dirt on Hillary Clinton. He reported that she didn’t have any dirt and actually wanted to discuss repealing a US law that certain Russians don’t like. He ended the meeting after only a few minutes.)

Finally, five of the 53 questions concern Trump’s actions during the campaign

  1. What involvement did you have in the communication strategy, [about the Trump Tower meeting #4 above] including the release of Donald Trump Jr.’s emails?
  2. What discussions did you have during the campaign regarding any meeting with Mr. Putin? Did you discuss it with others?
  3. What discussions did you have during the campaign regarding Russian sanctions?
  4. What involvement did you have concerning platform changes regarding arming Ukraine?
  5. What communication did you have with Michael D. Cohen, Felix Sater and others, including foreign nationals, about Russian real estate developments during the campaign? (Apparently Cohen held preliminary discussions about the idea of a Trump Tower in Russia. But the Russians had no interest and the idea died. No actual plans were ever made.)
